I live in a house made of wood and I am a teenager. We have just moved and I'm having trouble designing my new room, because the panels on the walls. Could it be stupid to a color dye?

Yes, I would suggest to go totally redneck and hang all skins Roadkill on the wall and call it "art". Just kidding. I do not stain the walls, as this would destroy the rustic wooden tried to create.
